FASHION AND MEDIA MAKEUP COURSE (6 Months)
The main purpose of the Advance in Fashion and Media Make–up is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge to provide fashion and media make–up to the general public and gain employment within the Fashion and Media/Make–up industries.
ADVANCED FASHION AND MEDIA MAKEUP (6 Months)
The qualification also provides opportunities for learners to focus on the development of their wider skills in a make-upsetting, such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving.
Learners will also be able to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities, and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a Fashion and Media Make-up Artist.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course combines the full range of skills and knowledge for the learner seeking employment or self-employment as a Fashion and Media Make-up Artist wanting to work within the TV Film and Fashion industry. Training at Final Checks Academy will give you the right tools and knowledge of practical skills as well as building your CV with the many job opportunities that we receive.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?
The main skills the learner will perform are:
- 4 Weeks – Application of fashion and photographic make-up – to include creating and adapting a design plan, using products, tools and techniques to meet the design plan; using black and white and colour and working to a budget
- 2 Weeks – Airbrush make-up including applying airbrush make-up to the face and developing airbrush make-up design plans using research materials and resources
- 3 Weeks – Face and body art including designing illusion and applying face and body art using a variety of techniques, tools and equipment to suit the desired look
- 2 Weeks – Asian Bridal Makeup Application of all make-up products – to include recognition of face shapes and corrective make-up for a Asian Bride.
- 4 Weeks – Afro Textured Hairstyling – Introduction to working Afro textured hair. Learning the skills and styling techniques with Natural Afro-Textured hair.
- 4 Weeks – Design and application flat prosthetic pieces and applying Bald Caps including skin tests, products, tools and techniques to meet design objectives
- 2 Weeks – Portfolio Building
The learner will also develop knowledge about related health and safety and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the fashion and media make-up industry.
Within your Fashion unit you will experience several photo shoots in studio and on location. Building your portfolio ready to showcase for future work opportunities with professional models and photographers.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This is a blended learning course including practical and theory questionaries which learners undertake within class timetable. The main emphasis whilst at the academy will be on the development of the necessary practical skills.

- Make and Apply prosthetic flat pieces
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
It is recommended that learners should have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs at grade A* – C or a Level 2 Diploma in Makeup or Beauty .
Students over 18 (17yrs will be accepted if turning 18 during the course are accepted), subject to satisfactory literacy and numeracy tests, work experience (if applicable) and a strong personal statement.
