Final Checks Makeup and Hair Academy works in partnership with DfE Education, supporting young people aged 16–18 who are not currently in education, training or employment to progress into the TV, Film and Fashion industries.
Associate Fee for 16–18 (Choose Your Course Below)
The associate fee for full-time trainees aged 16–18 is £1,500 per year. This covers essential extras that support training and career progression:
- Professional makeup and hair kits
- Branded academy uniforms
- Masterclasses and industry trips
- Professional portfolio shoots
- Wellbeing and personal development sessions
- Access to our trainee agency
- Guest artist workshops
Our 0% interest payment plan via GoCardless allows the fee to be split into manageable instalments.

If you are aged 19+ and looking to train with Final Checks Academy, we offer flexible payment options to help make your course more accessible.

Funding Your Makeup or Hair Course
FUNDED COURSES 16–18 YRS
Final Checks Makeup and Hair Academy are in partnership with Eastbrook School for our BTEC study programmes, supporting young people aged 16–18 not currently in education, training or employment to train and progress in the TV, Film and Fashion industry.
BAFTA Scholarship 18yrs+
Final Checks Academy has been endorsed by BAFTA. Our students are able to apply for BAFTA Scholarships for training on our Level 3 BTEC Certificate in Production Arts (Makeup Pathway).

To be eligible for the bursary (up to a maximum of £10,000), you must first be offered a place on one of our courses.
Final Checks 0% Interest-Free Payment Plan
In some cases, we may offer an interest-free payment plan with a £600 deposit due before the course start date, followed by instalments split across year one and year two.
Bursary Support
The 16–18 Bursary Fund is designed to support students who may face financial barriers to education. Funding can help students participate fully in their studies and reduce the impact of financial hardship.
What can the bursary help with?
Bursary funding may be used towards:
- Travel costs to and from school or college
- Books, stationery and course materials
- Equipment required for study
- Educational visits and trips
- Specialist clothing or uniform where required
- Other essential costs that support participation in education
Who may be eligible?
You may qualify for support if:
- You are aged 16–19 and enrolled in full-time education.
- You are eligible for Free School Meals.
- Your household income is below £16,190 per year.
- You are currently in care or are a care leaver.
- You receive Income Support, Universal Credit, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payments (PIP), or other qualifying benefits.
- You are experiencing financial hardship that may affect your ability to continue your education.

- Evidence of household income or benefits (where applicable)
- Proof of Free School Meals eligibility (if applicable)

- Information about your travel arrangements and associated costs
- Any supporting evidence relating to financial hardship or personal circumstances

- Bursary awards are assessed individually and funding levels may vary depending on circumstances, course requirements and travel costs.
- Continued bursary payments may be subject to attendance, conduct and engagement requirements.
What is a Bursary?
A bursary is a financial award designed to help eligible students with costs related to their education, such as course materials, uniforms, travel, and other essential expenses.
Eligibility Criteria:
Bursaries are available to students who meet one or more of the following criteria, as outlined by the DfE:
- Students aged 16 to 19 who are in care, care leavers, or receiving Income Support or Universal Credit in their own name.
- Students facing financial hardship that could prevent them from fully participating in their course.
- Other specific circumstances as defined by the DfE and the Academy’s bursary policy.

- Supporting evidence of eligibility will be required to process bursary applications.
