The Level 3 Media Makeup & Hair Course at Final Checks Academy is a comprehensive two-year training pathway specialising in TV, Film, Fashion, SPX and Professional Development. Based in East London—just 20 minutes from Liverpool Street and affiliated with Barking & Dagenham Film Studios, home to major Netflix productions—students benefit from direct industry exposure from day one.

Graduates of our Level 3 Media Makeup & Hair programme are equipped to enter a wide range of creative industries. Many progress into roles within TV and Film, theatre, music videos, and red carpet or event work, while others choose to build flexible careers as freelancers or develop their own successful businesses. Our training ensures students leave confident, capable, and prepared for the demands of real-world production environments.
Progression & Further Training
Upon completing the Level 3 BTEC, learners have opportunities to continue expanding their skills through advanced and specialist training. Students can progress into the Advanced Fashion & Media Makeup Course, pursue Level 2 Barbering or Level 2 Hair Extensions, or enhance their expertise with targeted short courses in Afro hair, barbering, and prosthetics. These pathways allow graduates to refine their craft and specialise within their chosen areas of the industry.

Associate Fees: £1500 per year included. Beauty Makeup, Hair Kit, SPX kit, Uniforms, Photoshoot days with models and Photographers (Monthly payment plans available)
Entry requirements: To begin this study program, we prefer for trainees to have the following:

- Qualification: Successful completion of a Level 2 qualification in Makeup and Hair or a related subject.
- English GCSE: Must have a minimum grade C/4 in English GCSE (or equivalent).
- Experience: Practical experience in makeup or hair styling (work experience, internships, or personal projects).
- Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your skills.
- Interview: In-depth interview to assess commitment, career goals, and readiness for advanced training.
19+: BAFTA Bursaries available
Private Tuition Fees: £6500 Year 1 £6250 Year 2 (Payment plans /Scholarships/Bursary available from BAFTAs and ScreenSkills)
