Day 1 – SFX LAB: CUTS, WOUNDS & HALLOWEEN HORROR
Students learn how to create bold, camera ready SFX Looks
- Zombie/monster skin
- How SFX artists make injuries look believable on camera
- Fake cuts and wounds
🎥 Day 2 – TIM BURTON: DARK & QUIRKY CHARACTERS
They level up into TV & film character creation:
- Wednesday / Nevermore
- Beetlejuice
- Corpse Bride
- Edward Scissorhands
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Or invent their own spooky Burton-style character
What they do:
Introduction to character makeup → Halloween moodboard → face chart/design → pale and unusual skin finishes → dark eyes and exaggerated features → character hair → costume/accessory styling → final character transformation & photoshoot.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?
- Please arrive 10 minutes before session starts
- allergy tests will be provided (our team try to keep everything suitable for under 16’s)
- On arrival please wait outside the Final Checks door and wait for members of our team to check your details and take you to the makeup room.
- We ask everyone to use our sanitiser on arrival and during session

Each individual will be working on themselves.
- Equipment and products will be provided by Final Checks. If a boot camper would like to provide their own makeup/brushes. Our team will sterilise before use.
- We ask for individual to bring own food and beverage to prevent cross contaminating
