WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?

The Hairdressing is a rapidly growing profession within Salons and tv and film. There are increasing career opportunities, while new demands challenge the profession to high levels of creativity and expertise.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This is a blended learning course including theory modules which learners undertake theory assignments and practical’s set by the tutor. The main emphasis whilst at the academy, will be on the development of the necessary practical skills.

🌟 Industry Insights: Enjoy guest sessions from hair pros who will share their secrets and inspire your journey!

Theoretical knowledge for each unit will be assessed via portfolios, logbooks, and written evaluations, which will test your underpinning knowledge. Practical knowledge will be assessed via hands-on assignments on your peers and or clients. Written assignments and research are also required for each unit.

Portfolios should be put together in your own private study hours, we recommend students use the days they are not attending the academy as private study days, students are welcome to use the Final Checks Makeup and Hair Academy facilities during this time. Supplementary classes and tutorials can be held for those students who need extra guidance.

range of sectors. BTEC qualifications are developed with key industry
representatives and Sector Skills Councils (SSC) to ensure that they meet employer
and learner needs — in this case the Standards Setting Body, Habia.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Final Checks Academy has a track record of offering over 100 opportunities each year. Work experience is an essential element of this course, and you will be encouraged to take part in a variety of educational visits throughout the year. This will support learners build their portfolio, confidence, progress onto high level courses and employment goals.

Candidates will be expected to work independently producing research material, evidence, and assignments.

ENTRY

To enroll in this dynamic course, candidates must meet the following entry requirements:

Age: Applicants must be 16 years or older.
Educational Background: A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A*-D (or equivalent), including English and/or Maths is preferred, although enthusiasm and passion for hairdressing can be equally valuable. If you do not achieve your grades 16-18ys will still be able to be enrol and continue with their math and English studies.
Personal Statement: A brief statement expressing your interest in hairdressing and any relevant experience, showcasing your passion for the industry.
Interview: Attend a friendly introductory interview with our tutors to discuss your aspirations, motivations, and commitment to learning.
Commitment to Learning: A genuine desire to learn and develop skills in hairdressing, along with a proactive attitude towards practical training.
